Chapters of a Life, 2024

Ceramic, nylon thread, paper

The 11 hanging bowls in this installation symbolize containment and holding—metaphors for the body, memory, and lived experiences. Each bowl serves as a vessel that contain stories of my life, offering a space for the spontaneously written narratives to rest, be revisited, or even reimagined. The circular writing and bowls represents cycles of time and history and how our experiences often loop and repeat. As functional objects traditionally associated with the domestic, the bowls also refer to nurturing and care, but as a group they are transformed from everyday items into carriers of intimate and shared histories.

The stories are a blend of fiction and non-fiction, interweaving personal memories together. Almost metaphysically, viewers move from one bowl to the next, encountering a passage of time marked, inviting reflection on ones evolving identity. Suspended at varying heights, The seeming weightlessness of the bowls shows how a delicate yet persistent  memory can be, hanging just out of reach but always present.
