Matchsticks, thread, photographic
transparencies, mirror, motor, fabric

This work is a created architecture of memory, a structure held together by tension, collecting, and repetition.  Constructed from matchsticks, thread, photographic transparencies, and fragments of personal writing, the piece exists somewhere between a body, a home, and a collapsing archive. The slowly rotating base allows images and texts to ebb and flow never fully graspable.  This echos the way identity is continually rewritten throughout our lives, and beyond. The threads are like connective tissue, mapping the invisible between past and present.

More intimate moments happen when the light moves through the photographs and handwritten notes. Unignited matchsticks form a fragile skeleton that at any moment could either hold or combust. Surrounded by a soft cloud-like fabric, the work invites viewers into a world of vulnerability and ephemeral memory. The piece offers a shifting constellation of stories — a living archive that turns slowly in a fast-paced world where we glance at images on social media for as few seconds as possible.
